The gel that goes in before the first file does

Sclerosed canal? Fine file binding at the coronal third? File-Eze™ is a 19% EDTA chelating agent in a water-soluble, viscous, lubricating base – Ultradent's own description – used with the first two or three instruments to chelate, lubricate and aid debridement while the canal is still tight. It is peroxide-free, so it will not affect the set of resin sealers.

› Technique (Ultradent's IFU) – deliver to the canal orifice and express to no more than half the working length; never express material with pressure up the canal past the apical foramen.
› Alternate with sodium hypochlorite and a liquid EDTA through the shaping sequence, then rinse the gel away before obturating.
› Delivery – Ultradent recommends a 25 mm NaviTip™; QED stocks the 29 ga open-end in 21 mm. Test flow before going intraoral and never force a plunger.

Gel or liquid EDTA – do I need both?
They do different jobs. The gel lubricates and chelates at the file, early in shaping; liquid EDTA is the final rinse that lifts the smear layer. Ultradent's own protocol alternates the two.

Will it interfere with my sealer?
File-Eze is peroxide-free and Ultradent states it will not affect the set of resin sealers. Rinse thoroughly before obturation regardless.

Is there a bigger pack?
Yes – the 30 ml IndiSpense™ syringe dispenses into 1.2 ml empty syringes and works out cheaper per case for a busy endodontic list.
