The 6:1 miniature contra-angle for the X-Smart Plus

This is the contra-angle that goes on the X-Smart Plus motor handpiece. Dentsply Sirona credit the miniature contra-angle with excellent visibility and access. Their user manual gives a 6:1 gear ratio, a 2.35 mm ISO 1797-1 Type 1 shank, a push-button chuck and a maximum overall instrument length of 46 mm.

Questions we get asked

Does it fit other endo motors?
The manual says only the original X-Smart Plus 6:1 contra-angle is to be used with the X-Smart Plus, and that other contra-angles or reduction ratios cannot be used. It does not cover other motors.

Can it go in the autoclave?
Yes, according to the manual: it gives the three steam cycles above. Lubricate first and calibrate afterwards. The manual is the controlling document, so follow it and your own decontamination procedure.
