Ordinary tweezers ask you to keep squeezing, and a cone coated in sealer is the last thing you want to hold by hand pressure alone. These work the other way round: the jaws are cross-action, closed at rest and held shut by the instrument rather than by you, with a safety catch. WAM’s own line says it best – the item will not be released until you decide.

Why tweezers that stay shut?
The moment you most want a firm grip is the moment your hand is busy with something else. A cross-action jaw holds without being held.

How do these differ from the Classic?
Both lock. The Endo adds the safety catch and grooved jaws for long cylindrical items; the Classic is the general one, for cotton, wedges and small objects.

Can they be autoclaved?
Yes. WAM’s maintenance instruction covers it: clean, lubricate the moving parts, then steam sterilise – with the instrument open, which on a self-locking tweezer takes a deliberate press. New ones are rinsed in distilled water, cleaned, lubricated and autoclaved before first use. Ask us for the full document.
