Thermafil® placed and a post to follow? Dentsply Sirona’s instructions say Post-Space burs “are used to prepare the post space removing Thermafil® obturator (or another plastic core obturator)”, and that the device is intended for tooth preparation before post insertion. This is size 070: 25 mm long, 13 mm operative part, in a cassette of six.

› Contraindications – Dentsply Sirona’s instructions list none known.
› Rubber dam – recommended by Dentsply Sirona during the procedure, to avoid swallowing or inhalation of the bur.
› Inspect before every use – Dentsply Sirona say to discard a bur that is bent, broken, corroded or has lost its marking, or that produces unusual vibration or noise. Do not apply excessive pressure.

What is the difference between size 050 and size 070?
Only the size: the length and the operative part are the same, and the ring mark differs (1 for 050, 2 for 070). The other size is here: Post Space Bur 050.
