Four ends of steel for carrying and packing MTA

A set of double-ended stainless steel instruments for MTA: two ends that carry a measured dose from the dosing block to the site, two that condense and smooth it once it is there, split by anterior and posterior reach. Cerkamed's description: "Reusable dental tools for handling and application of prepared measure of MTA material." Non-sterile in the box; autoclave before first use and every use after.

Reprocessing, as Cerkamed set it out

›  Cerkamed: "The packaged instruments are non – sterile. Before sterilisation, these new instruments should be washed thoroughly with warm water and using detergent. Before each use these dental instruments must be sterilised."

›  Cerkamed: "Before use protect the instrument against contamination or damage of the material structure (cracks, bends, fractures, peeling, etc.)."

Tools, applicator or carrier?

Three different jobs. The Tools set carries a formed dose and condenses it. The MTA+ Applicator 0.8 mm and MTA+ Applicator 1.2 mm are single-ended placers that pick up a plug of a set diameter. The Vista Apex MTA carriers are spring-loaded carriers for a longer reach. Most operators own a carrier and this set.

Do I need the dosing block?

Cerkamed's Matrix MTA dosing block has grooves from 0.7 to 1.0 mm for forming a dose to size, and MX1/MX2 are described as carrying from it. It is not one we stock at present; a glass slab and a measured pick-up works with the same tips.
