A diamond that opens the chamber and leaves the floor alone

Walls, not floor. Diamendo is Dentsply Sirona’s conical diamond bur for “opening and preparing the pulp cavity (access to the root orifices)”. It has a non-cutting extremity, so the diamond works on the walls while the tip is not the part doing the cutting. Dentsply Sirona also list it for eliminating interferences on the way to the orifices.

Is this the bur for cutting through a crown?
No. Dentsply Sirona’s bur for cutting crowns and bridges is Transmetal. Diamendo is for the pulp cavity once you are through.

How is it different from the Zekrya bur?
Zekrya is a carbide surgical bur with a cutting tip, used for sectioning and root separation. Diamendo is a diamond with a non-cutting tip, for access.
