Komet Endo Rescue · kit 4601
Fragment removalRetreatmentNiTi fracture
Komet’s kit “for the removal of instrument fragments” – specifically fractured rotary NiTi instruments. Once access to the head of the fragment is created, two specially developed instruments do the work: a centre drill that excavates the last few millimetres, and an extremely fine trepan bur that seizes the fragment.

› Start with the access. Komet: “Instrument fracture is most frequently caused by incorrect or insufficient preparation of the canal access”, so the first step is re-preparing the access.
› Drill, then trepan. The centre drill exposes the fractured surface by drilling around the fragment; the trepan bur surrounds and seizes it and, in anti-clockwise rotation, withdraws it “firmly held in the trepan bur by the residues of dentin”.
› Then finish the canal. Komet’s sequence ends with the last third correctly prepared and filled.
