Eight fragments in a block you can see through

The BTR Dental Training Gum is Cerkamed's bench kit for the BTR Pen: a transparent silicone mass, backlit, with eight broken file fragments set into it and a socket for a training tooth; a stand that turns it in three dimensions; an anti-slip mat; and two resin teeth with fragments already in them, one easy and one hard. Cerkamed call it an endodontic training kit, and the point of the transparency is that you watch the loop close.

How it is used

›  The mass is the first stage: a fragment you can see, with room to work, so the feel of setting the loop and closing it on steel comes before any tooth is involved.

›  The teeth are the second: the same retrieval down a real-shaped canal, first the loosely placed fragments, then the blocked ones.

›  Cerkamed publish the BTR Pen work methodology on their product page; the kit is built around it.

›  Training equipment, not a medical device. It never goes near a patient.

Does it include the pen?

No. The BTR Pen set is sold separately, and this kit is what you learn it on. The larger BTR Dental Training Kit that Cerkamed also make adds a digital microscope; ask us if a course needs it.

Can the teeth be replaced?

Yes – the Training Teeth – Easy and Training Teeth – Hard are the same teeth in packs of ten, so a course can give every delegate a fresh one.
