Micro-Debrider 30/.02 – clearing the chamber and canal under the scope

A Hedstroem on a short handle, made to be used down a microscope. Dentsply Sirona UK describe these as “Flexible, stainless steel instruments made for working with a microscope or other forms of magnification” that “provide improved access to posterior teeth”. Dentsply Maillefer describe the Micro-Debriders as “ISO-sized, hedstrom-type files”.

›  Clears the debris. Dentsply Maillefer say the 16 mm flutes “clear away paste, pulpal residues, gutta-percha, broken instruments and calcification”.
›  Shapes as well. They “Also allow additional shaping of the canal” once the obstruction is out.

What is it for?
Clearing the chamber and canal – paste, pulpal remnants, gutta-percha, separated instruments and calcification – while you watch through the scope.

Opener or Debrider?
The Opener has K-type flutes and a .04 or .06 taper, for finding and opening a canal. The Debrider has Hedstroem flutes and a .02 taper, for clearing what is already in there.
