Ultrasonic K-files, ISO 10, 21 mm

Files that fit the handpiece, not the hand. These are Acteon’s K-files for ultrasonic use, with a 2% taper. Acteon’s tip sheet gives the indications as “irrigation, the removal of calcified dentine and gutta percha and the removal of broken instruments”. This blister holds four ISO 10 files at 21 mm.

›  Handle with care. Acteon’s brochure notes that ultrasonic K-files are very flexible and should be handled with precision, and can be pre-bent.
›  Clean, disinfect and sterilise before each use, following Acteon’s cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation instructions for tips (J02001).
›  Replace at least once a year. Acteon: because a maximum number of uses cannot be set, tips in routine use should be “replaced at least once a year”, and sooner if the tip no longer vibrates as expected or treatment slows.

Irrisafe or K-file for irrigation?
Acteon make both. Irrisafe® is their passive ultrasonic irrigation file; the K-files add calcified dentine, gutta-percha and broken instrument removal to irrigation.
