Lateral condensation by heat. S04 is Acteon’s fine condenser. Their brochure describes it as designed “for lateral condensation of gutta percha by heating effect”, used dry, without irrigation.

›  Clean, disinfect and sterilise before each use, following Acteon’s cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation instructions for tips (J02001).
›  Replace at least once a year. Acteon: because a maximum number of uses cannot be set, tips in routine use should be “replaced at least once a year”, and sooner if the tip no longer vibrates as expected or treatment slows.
›  Used dry. Acteon’s brochure says S04 is used without irrigation. Their general instructions set out the conditions for irrigation-free use, including magnification, an assistant and continual monitoring for heat.

Acteon’s tip sheet gives settings for the Newtron® range, including the P5 XS B.LED and Booster. Acteon advise against using their tips on other makers’ handpieces, and other makers’ tips on theirs.
