AH Plus is Dentsply Sirona’s epoxy-amine root canal sealer, launched in 1995 and, in their own scientific manual’s words, “described by many authors as the ‘gold standard’ in root canal sealing materials”. This is the tube set: two pastes, mixed 1:1 on the pad, for as much or as little as the case needs.

This pack: AH Plus® Root Canal Sealer tube set – paste A 4 ml, paste B 4 ml and a mixing pad (8 ml of paste in all)
Made by Dentsply Sirona · Dentsply DeTrey GmbH, Konstanz
› Epoxy-amine chemistry. An epoxide paste and an amine paste. Dentsply Sirona credit the composition with “low solubility, self-adhesive properties with adhesion to dentin, outstanding low leakage, and excellent sealing performance”.
› Radiopaque by design. Finely ground calcium tungstate and zirconium oxide, at a filler content of about 76%, per the scientific manual.
› Time to work. About 4 hours’ working time at 23 °C, setting within 24 hours – Dentsply Sirona’s figures.
› Cold, warm or carrier-based. Dentsply Sirona design AH Plus for both cold and warm obturation, including carrier-based systems.
› The reference point. The manual calls it “the benchmark for evaluating new sealers in both clinical and laboratory settings”.
Dentsply Sirona’s AH Plus Scientific Manual (2025) collects 36 clinical studies published between 2007 and 2024 – 21 randomised trials, 7 non-randomised trials and 8 retrospective studies – covering 3,407 patients and 3,735 treated teeth. Their summary:
“The use of AH Plus resulted in a high treatment success rate regardless of the obturation technique (including single cone obturation) and type of treatment (primary or secondary). In most studies, the long-term success rate exceeded 80%.”
Dentsply Sirona, AH Plus® Scientific Manual, 2025
Where post-obturation pain occurred in those studies it was mild to moderate, and fell significantly within 48 to 72 hours. It is Dentsply Sirona’s own selection of the clinical literature, and we pass it on as that – the manual is in the downloads below, with every study named.
| AH Plus 8 ml paste | This page. Two tubes, mixed 1:1 on a pad or glass slab with a metal spatula. You mix what the case needs, and the pad suits coating a cone. |
| AH Plus Jet | The same epoxy-amine sealer in a double-barrel syringe, mixed as it passes through a disposable tip – one tip per application. Start with the Starter Kit, then reorder the Refill and Mixing Tips. |
1Mix. Equal volume units (1:1) of paste A and paste B, on a glass slab or mixing pad, with a metal spatula, to a homogeneous consistency.
2Coat. Apply a light coating to the canal walls, or use a Lentulo spiral at low speed.
3Obturate. Dip the disinfected, dry points into the sealer and insert them into the canal. Warm and carrier-based techniques follow their own directions.
Worth knowing before you open it: the directions list hypersensitivity to epoxy resins, amines or other components as a contraindication, and warn that the unset pastes may cause sensitisation in susceptible people – gloves and eye protection, and keep unset paste off skin and mucosa.
Is it the same sealer as AH Plus Jet?
Dentsply Sirona describe the Jet as the AH Plus formula in a double-barrel syringe. The difference is delivery: the Jet mixes for you, the tubes suit a pad and spatula.
How long have I got once it is mixed?
About 4 hours at 23 °C, by Dentsply Sirona’s figures, and it sets within 24 hours.
Which points go with it?
The cone matched to the file that cut the canal – for example WaveOne Gold Conform Fit Primary, ProTaper Ultimate Conform Fit F2, ProTaper Gold Conform Fit F2 or TruNatomy Conform Fit Prime. For carrier-based obturation, GuttaCore.
Resin or bioceramic?
A real choice of technique rather than a ranking – we carry both because both are right in different hands. For bioceramic, NeoSEALER EZFlo is premixed and places sealer through 29 gauge NaviTip cannulas (25 mm tips; 21 mm tips too). Dentsply Sirona now have a bioceramic of their own, ProRoot Bio Sealer – premixed, 25 gauge ProRoot Flex Tip.
| Irrigants | Chlorax 5.25%, Chlorax 2% and Endo-Solution 17% EDTA. |
| Activation | SmartLite Pro EndoActivator – Dentsply Sirona’s own. |
| Points | Conform Fit, matched to the file: WaveOne Gold, ProTaper Ultimate, ProTaper Gold, TruNatomy. |
| Carrier-based | GuttaCore – crosslinked gutta-percha core obturators. |
| Automix | AH Plus Jet Starter Kit – the same sealer, mixed in the tip. |
| Bioceramic | NeoSEALER EZFlo – premixed, 29 gauge NaviTip delivery · ProRoot Bio Sealer – Dentsply Sirona's own. |
| Coronal seal | SDR flow+ Refill Universal – 4 mm bulk increment, one cure. |
