The point that goes where the R25 cone will go

Drying is the last step you fully control before the sealer goes in. If the paper point binds before working length, the apical few millimetres stay wet and you will not know it. These points are sized to the canal an R25 leaves, so the paper occupies the same space the matched cone is about to. Dentsply's own Minima procedure specifies dedicated absorbent points for precisely this reason.

Do I still need these if I use a bioceramic sealer?
Yes – but for a different reason than you might think. Some bioceramics positively require moisture to set: Avalon state that complete drying is not needed for NeoSEALER® Flo, because moisture from the tubules and apical tissues is what starts it setting. What you are removing with paper points is the free irrigant and pooled fluid, not the moisture in the canal wall. Follow the sealer's own instructions rather than a rule of thumb.

How many will I get through?
More than you expect. A box of 180 against a box of 60 cones reflects how the two are actually used.
