Sterifiles Hedstroem 15 – a sterile Hedstroem in the everyday sizes

They’re back. Sterifiles® is QED’s own range of stainless steel hand files, made for us by Nic. Hedstroem files in ISO sizes with a silicone stopper already fitted, sterile in the blister and single use – from the packet to the patient, with no sterilising step first. The name says most of it.

›  Packet to patient. Supplied sterile – the pack carries the STERILE R symbol for irradiation sterilisation – so there is no need to sterilise before use. That is what the Steri in Sterifiles stands for.
›  Single use. One patient, then dispose of the file.
›  Stopper already on. Each file comes with a pre-mounted silicone stopper, so there is nothing to fit before you set length.
›  ISO colour on the handle. Size 15 is the white handle, the standard ISO colour for the size, so the tray reads at a glance.
›  Stainless steel, ISO sizes. Sterifiles K-Files run ISO 06 to 30 in 25 and 31 mm; Hedstroem files ISO 08 to 25 in 25 mm.

Haven’t I seen Sterifiles before?
Quite possibly. Sterifiles were a QED line some years ago, and they’re back: QED’s own brand, made for us by Nic.

K-File or Hedstroem?
Two classic stainless hand-file designs, and plenty of clinicians keep both on the tray. Your technique decides; we stock both in Sterifiles.

Do I need to sterilise them first?
No. They are supplied sterile (STERILE R on the pack), so they go from the packet to the patient.

Can they be reused?
No – Sterifiles are single use.
