SuperEndo Alpha II: the cordless heat carrier for the downpack

The Alpha II is B&L’s cordless heat carrier for warm vertical compaction of gutta percha. This is the starter kit in black: the Alpha II handpiece, charging console, power cord and adapter, and three pluggers – 55/.06, 55/.08 and 55/.10.

›  Cordless, all day. B&L put it at 4 hours of continuous use on a charge – “equivalent to about 1 week of endodontic treatment in a busy practice”.
›  Pluggers that stay put. Six keyholes at 60° on the plugger joint “safely secure and prevent rotation of the plugger during use”.
›  Six plugger sizes. The kit’s 55/.06, 55/.08 and 55/.10, plus 40/.04, 45/.04 and 60/.12.

What we get asked

What does the manual warn about?
The plugger reaches 230 °C and the manual limits use inside the canal to 5 seconds. It strongly recommends rubber dam, and lists pacemakers as a contraindication.

And the backfill?
That is the Beta Mini – or buy both together with a tip stand as the Alpha II + Beta Mini kit.

Which sealer?
AH Plus or NeoSEALER EZFlo – resin or bioceramic is a real choice of technique rather than a ranking; we carry both.
