Irrisafe® 25, 21 mm: passive ultrasonic irrigation files

For the irrigant, once the shaping is done. Acteon’s tip sheet says Irrisafe files “are used to irrigate the root canal at the end of preparations”. Their brochure describes the technique: the file is inserted 2 mm short of the working length and activated with withdrawal movements to flush debris and the smear layer upwards. This blister holds four ISO 25 files at 21 mm.

›  Clean, disinfect and sterilise before each use, following Acteon’s cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation instructions for tips (J02001).
›  Replace at least once a year. Acteon: because a maximum number of uses cannot be set, tips in routine use should be “replaced at least once a year”, and sooner if the tip no longer vibrates as expected or treatment slows.
›  Genuine tips on Acteon handpieces. Acteon warn that tips from other sources can put patients at risk and damage the equipment.
