Six millimetres of view through a three millimetre gap

A circle is the wrong shape for a root. Roots are long and narrow, and so are most of the windows you look at them through – which is the argument for the oval. At 3 x 6 mm it enters on the narrow dimension and reflects on the long one, so you get the reach of a bigger mirror without needing a bigger opening. Oval or round?
Round is simpler to orientate and forgiving if the stem gets rotated. Oval shows more of a long field for the same entry width, and asks you to think about which way up it goes. Surgeons who carry both tend to reach for the oval when the window is a slot rather than a hole. Ø 3 mm and Ø 5 mm are the round ones.

Is there a drop-shaped version?
Hahnenkratt make one, in the same 3 x 6 mm size. QED do not stock it – ask us if it is the one you want and we will look at bringing it in.

Reprocessing?
The mirror unscrews from the handle and both clean as separate items. Follow Hahnenkratt's EN ISO 17664-1 processing instructions for the range.
