Hypochlorite, chelator and a final rinse all sit on the bracket table in identical clear barrels. A red CanalPro™ Color Syringe marks one of them out from the clear barrels around it, so the syringe you pick up is the one you meant to pick up.

›  Colour tells them apart at a glance. The barrel and plunger are coloured through, so the syringe is identifiable from across the surgery and in a tray of three.
›  Luer lock, not slip. It threads on, so a needle or a flexible tip will not part company with the syringe under thumb pressure.
›  Graduated. The barrel is marked, so a volume can be drawn and seen.
›  Your protocol, your colour. Coltene do not assign a solution to a colour and neither do we – the practice decides what red means and sticks to it.

Questions we get asked

What should the red syringe be used for?
That is your decision. Coltene publish no fixed colour-to-solution table, so decide what red means in your surgery, write it up, and keep every room the same. What matters is that it never changes.

Are they sterile?
Coltene do not state sterility for these syringes, so neither do we. They are marked single use. If you need a sterile pre-tipped syringe, the Appli-Vac™ pre-tipped syringes are the ones to ask us about.

What fits the Luer lock?
Any Luer lock needle or flexible tip – IrriFlex®, Endo-Top side-vented needles and Appli-Vac™ 30G needles all thread straight on.
