KOHLER · APICECTOMY RETRACTOR
One of Kohler’s two apicectomy retractors. Both carry the same 40 x 10 mm serrated blade; the only difference is the bend. This one is angled at 45 degrees and is the posterior reach of the pair.
This pack: Kohler Apicectomy Retractor, toothed · 40 x 10 mm blade · 45 degrees · single instrument · QED REF 7530
Kohler on this range: “Apicoectomy retractors, toothed. The apicoectomy retractors assist to hold the gingival flap of the gingival during the endodontic surgery.”

| Angle | 45 degrees |
| Edge | Serrated / toothed |
| Sibling | 90 degrees, REF 7531 |
Access, not function. The 45 degree blade sits more naturally where the approach is shallow and from the side – posterior work. The 90 degree version turns the blade square to the shaft for a straight-on anterior approach. Trays that do both usually carry one of each.
A plain blade holds the flap by pressure alone and can creep. The toothed edge is there to keep the blade seated once it is placed.
