The DentaPort Root ZX is Morita’s established desktop apex locator. Morita put its case simply: the patented Quotient Method gives precise results irrespective of irrigation solution or blood in the root canal, shown on a large colour display with acoustic signals as the file approaches the apex.
The Root ZX is the benchmark apex locator – when a new locator comes to market, the Root ZX is the one it is usually compared with. The DentaPort Root ZX is Morita’s established desktop version of it.

This pack: Morita DentaPort Root ZX Apex Locator · 1 measuring cable (probe cord) · 5 contrary electrodes · 3 file holders · 1 test plug · 3 AA batteries
› Precise, reliable measurement – Morita state it is unaffected by irrigant or blood in the canal.
› Large colour display showing the file’s position as it advances.
› Acoustic signals as the file reaches, or nears, the apex – so you can keep your eyes on the tooth.
› No zero adjustment – always ready to use, with automatic calibration.
› Weekly self-check with the test plug supplied: it plugs into the probe cord and the meter should read within 3 bars of the “1” mark.
The meter runs down towards the APEX mark as the file advances. Morita’s instructions use the 0.5 reading as the working-length reference, with the final working length a matter of clinical judgement for each canal.
