A carrier made of gutta-percha, not plastic

Want the speed of a carrier technique without leaving a plastic core in the canal? GUTTAFUSION® obturators are made entirely of gutta-percha – cross-linked polymer chains give the core its stability, and a coating of flowable gutta-percha does the sealing. There is no plastic to work around at retreatment or post preparation. The R25 is matched to the canal a RECIPROC® blue R25 cuts, which is most of them.

› Shape, then verify. Confirm the prepared size with a GUTTAFUSION® Verifier 025 before you choose the obturator.

› Sealer goes in thinly. VDW name 2Seal® – applied with a paper point, excess removed with a second point.

› Do not twist it. The user card is explicit: bend the handle towards the centre of the cavity and separate at the canal entrance. Twisting spoils the fill.

Do I need the GUTTAFUSION oven?
Yes. The obturator is heated in the GUTTAFUSION® oven at setting 1, then placed within 3 seconds. It is a one-off purchase and is not part of this pack. QED does not currently list the oven – ask us and we will source it.

What if I need to retreat it later?
The RECIPROC® blue DFU covers exactly this – retreatment of gutta-percha fillings and carrier-based obturators with an R25. An all-gutta-percha carrier is a good deal simpler to remove than a plastic one.

Can I use these with cold cones instead?
They are alternatives, not a sequence. If you prefer a cold single cone, the matched R25 gutta percha is the product for that.
