Will it fit my ultrasonic unit?
MANI’s requirement is a device that takes a 0.8 mm shank for sizes 10 to 40. The attachment and the power needed differ from one unit to the next, so MANI say to follow the instructions from your unit’s maker.

What does MANI say it is for?
MANI list the intended use as root canal enlargement, and describe U-Files as "very useful for cleaning or cutting root canal".

What published guidance says about ultrasonic files

General points from the endodontic literature about ultrasonic files as a group – not MANI’s instructions, and not specific to U-Files.

› Low power, short bursts. Van der Vyver, Vorster and Jonker (South African Dental Journal, 2020) work in the lower quarter of the unit’s power range and tap the foot control for one to two seconds rather than running it continuously.
› Watch the heat. The same authors note that stainless steel tips can overheat with continuous activation, and that a temperature rise above 10°C risks the tissues around the root.
› For irrigant activation, keep it free. The file is usually held short of working length and left to oscillate without binding on the canal walls – van der Sluis et al. (International Endodontic Journal, 2007) is the standard review.
