Most plastic handles are a compromise you make at the autoclave. PEEK is not – Hahnenkratt rate the ERGOform PEEK to 210 °C, which covers hot air as well as steam, and describe the material as biocompatible, dimensionally stable and colourfast. It is the lightest way to put a good mirror in your hand, and at this price you can build out a full set of twelve without thinking about it.

Plastic or stainless?
Plastic is lighter and warmer in the hand and costs a third as much, so it is the one to buy twelve of. Stainless feels more substantial and is what most people want for the set they use on the difficult cases – ERGOtouch duo is the satin one, BLACKline ERGOtouch the matt black.

Why does 210 °C matter if my autoclave runs at 134?
Headroom. A handle rated well above the cycle it sees does not creep, chalk or discolour the way one sitting at its limit does – which is the practical reason Hahnenkratt call out dimensional stability and colourfastness.

Is there a version with no join at all?
Yes. RELAX FS ULTRA is moulded in one piece, handle and mirror together, so there is nothing to unscrew and nothing to reassemble.
