One piece, so there is no join to argue about

Every screwed mirror has a seam where the cone meets the handle, and somebody in your practice has to decide what happens to it. RELAX takes the question away: it is moulded as a single piece, with what Hahnenkratt describe as an exactly plane transition from mirror to casing, so there is nothing to unscrew before reprocessing and nothing to reassemble after. This is the FS ULTRA version – their brightest coating, on the standard Ø 22 mm adult head.

One-piece or cone and handle?
One-piece is simpler through decontamination and cheaper per working mirror, because there is no handle to buy. Cone and handle wins on longevity – a scratched head is a few pounds to replace rather than the whole instrument – and lets you mix head sizes on handles you like. ULTRAvision No. 4 is the same size in cone form.

Is FS ULTRA different from the rhodium RELAX?
Yes. Both are front-surface mirrors; the coating is what differs. Hahnenkratt put FS ULTRA at up to 25% brighter than their FS Rhodium. This SKU is the ULTRA.

What if I need a matt instrument for microscope work?
RELAX is not that instrument – go to the DLC-coated BLACK ULTRAretract with a BLACKline handle, or the ULTRAmicro Flex micro mirrors.
