Acadental describe the X2 Endo #11 – the maxillary cuspid – as having an extensive and challenging large space for intricate cleaning and obturation techniques. A wide canal is easy to negotiate and hard to touch: files skate down the middle, and a cone that fits the apex rattles everywhere above it. Because the tooth radiographs like an extracted one, the resulting voids are visible on the film rather than taken on trust.

Is a wide canal an easy case?
Easy to reach length, hard to clean and hard to fill. It is the ideal second or third exercise: negotiation is not the obstacle, so attention goes to wall contact, irrigation and a dense fill.

Single cone or warm vertical?
Run both, on two teeth, and radiograph them side by side. That comparison is the reason to buy a canine rather than another molar.
