ISO 010 is the size written into most manufacturers' patency steps. This is that size in MANI's D-Finder geometry, at 21 mm for posterior access.

What MANI’s own tests show

› Stiffer than a K-file. In MANI’s bending test the D-Finder took more force to bend than a conventional K-file at #08 and #10 – roughly half as much again at #10.
› Harder to break. MANI state that in their ductility test "D Finders are 1.5 times more resistant to fracture than other path finding files".
› Resists buckling. MANI’s internal buckling test shows a higher maximum load than conventional K-files at #08, #10 and #15.

Questions

How does MANI say to use them?
As a reamer: rotary cuts of a quarter to a third of a turn. That is MANI's own instruction, and it is the motion the flute geometry is cut for.

What is the taper?
.02 across the whole range – the standard hand-file taper, so the file gains 0.02 mm of diameter for every millimetre of length. Written as a percentage that is 2%.
