Kohler supply the hooked instruments in four versions, which they describe as "adapted to the different clinical situations": working ends of 26 mm or 18 mm, hooks to up / down or left / right. This is the left / right pattern on the full 26 mm working end.

Which version suits a given canal is a decision for the operator – the range exists so that there is one to hand. All four share the same micro-hooks, the same PEEK handle and the same 12 gram weight.

How do I choose between the four?

Kohler describe the four versions as adapted to the different clinical situations, and publish no selection rule beyond the two variables: working end length, 26 mm or 18 mm, and hook direction, up / down or left / right. Most retreatment trays carry more than one.
