The orange-oil route to an old root filling

Orange Guttane is Cerkamed's other gutta-percha solvent: 100% orange oil, 10 ml, three pipettes. Intended, in Cerkamed's words, "for use during repeated root canal treatments to remove gutta-percha cones from the root canal". Same method as Eucalyptol; a different oil.

What it is for

›  Cerkamed's steps: "Using the pipette, put 1- 2 drops of liquid in the root canal. Remove the gutta-percha with the selected root canal instrument. If necessary, use another dose. Re-apply ORANGE GUTTANE if gutta-percha is dry or crumbly. Repeat as needed until the desired effect is reached."

›  Cerkamed: "The product is reusable, while the pipette is disposable. If re-used, the pipette may create a risk of secondary infection."

›  Cerkamed's cautions: skin irritant, irritating to the oral mucosa, "can cause allergic skin reaction", flammable; and for the class, that gutta-percha solvents "can reduce dentin microhardness".

›  Store below 25°C and, Cerkamed add, "Protect from sunlight."

›  Cerkamed mark the product "TO BE USED BY DENTIST ONLY".

Orange or eucalyptus?

Cerkamed direct both identically and publish no comparison between them; scent and habit decide. Our older listing repeated some superlatives for the orange oil that Cerkamed's current page does not carry, so they have gone. Eucalyptol is the other one.

How much per case?

Cerkamed's directions are one or two drops at a time, repeated as needed. A 10 ml bottle is many cases.
