Four at a time, sterile, out of the box

You have just spent the appointment disinfecting a canal. What dries it should not be the weak link. These points are industrially sterilised and packed in blister cells of four – so a box is opened four points at a time rather than all at once, and the rest stay sealed. VDW's own reason for doing it that way is infection control, and it is an argument you can check by looking at the packaging.

› Highly absorbent, and VDW note that they retain good material consistency when fully saturated – they come out whole.
› One box, every length. Sized to the instrument rather than to its length, so it serves 21, 25 and 31 mm cases alike.
› Dry, then fill in the same step – the matched R25 gutta-percha cone carried to length with sealer.

Why not just use standard points?
Because the canal is not a standard shape. The RECIPROC® preparation carries the instrument's own regressive taper, and these points are made to correspond to it – which is the same reason the cones are.

How many do I need per canal?
Several points dry a canal and one cone fills it, which is why the box holds 144 points against 60 cones. Buying both, the ratio takes care of itself.
