Chasing a wide canal dry with narrow points wastes time and leaves moisture behind. These correspond to the R50 preparation, the largest the range makes, so each point does more of the work. Industrially sterilised and packed four to a blister cell, which keeps the rest of the box sealed while you are working.

144 of the size I use least?
Probably not. The assorted box holds 24 R50 with 24 R40 and 96 R25 – VDW's own weighting. Buy the single size when R50 is a regular finish for you, or where retreatments make up a large part of the list.

Do these work after a retreatment?
Yes – match the point and the cone to the last file used. Where R25 removed the old filling and R40 or R50 enlarged the apical third, the fill follows the final instrument.
