The first instrument into a canal you can barely see.

The orifice is on the radiograph and nothing will go in. ISO 08 is the finest D-Finder MANI make, and the one that goes first in a sclerosed canal.

What MANI’s own tests show

› Stiffer than a K-file. In MANI’s bending test the D-Finder took more force to bend than a conventional K-file at #08 and #10 – roughly half as much again at #10.
› Harder to break. MANI state that in their ductility test "D Finders are 1.5 times more resistant to fracture than other path finding files".
› Resists buckling. MANI’s internal buckling test shows a higher maximum load than conventional K-files at #08, #10 and #15.

Questions

What does the D-shaped cross-section actually do?
MANI state that the D-shaped section increases strength and resilience, and that the flutes are "shaped to prevent cutting in" – the screwing-in that drags a fine file deeper than intended.

Why not just use a smaller file?
Below ISO 08 the D-Finder range stops – C-PILOT starts at 006. MANI change the blade, not the diameter: with minimised cutting force it "is less likely to bite into the canal, and curbs the risk of creating ledges and perforations".
