Obtura Spartan CPR® · 17.0 mm · EMS thread
Two codes, one tip. Obtura Spartan build every CPR tip in two threads and put an E on the end of the EMS one: their own catalogue entry for this tip reads “EMS Threaded Tip CPR 1E”. If your handpiece takes an EMS-threaded tip, this is the code. If it does not, you want CPR 1 instead – the same tip, the other thread.
Obtura Spartan describe it as the tip used to vibrate posts and cores and to aid in crown and bridge removal, and they are explicit that it works either way round: “may be used directly on the post or indirectly to vibrate a post removal device.” There is a water port in it to offset the heat that vibrating a post generates. 17.0 mm.

› Next along the range CPR 2E, 17.0 mm.

How long does a tip last?
Obtura Spartan publish no figure and neither will we. Worth knowing is that a diamond tip stops cutting well before it looks worn, so judge it on how it is working rather than on how it looks.
