Two codes, one tip. Obtura Spartan build every CPR tip in two threads and put an E on the end of the EMS one: their own catalogue entry for this tip reads “EMS Threaded Tip CPR 4E”. If your handpiece takes an EMS-threaded tip, this is the code. If it does not, you want CPR 4D instead – the same tip, the other thread.

CPR 4 is the medium Problem Solver – diamond coated, listed by Obtura Spartan for removing obstructions in the canal, troughing around posts and chasing calcifications, on a 19.0 mm shank. It is the middle choice for when 17 mm stops short and 24 mm is more tip than the access will take.

How long does a tip last?
Obtura Spartan publish no figure and neither will we. Worth knowing is that a diamond tip stops cutting well before it looks worn, so judge it on how it is working rather than on how it looks.
