Obtura Spartan CPR® · 17.0 mm · EMS thread
Two codes, one tip. Obtura Spartan build every CPR tip in two threads and put an E on the end of the EMS one: their own catalogue entry for this tip reads “EMS Threaded Tip CPR 2E”. If your handpiece takes an EMS-threaded tip, this is the code. If it does not, you want CPR 2D instead – the same tip, the other thread.
Diamond coated, 17.0 mm, and listed by them for three of the jobs that fill a retreatment appointment: removal of core materials, chasing calcified canals, and uncovering hidden orifices. It is the tip most operators reach for first and replace most often.
This pack: Spartan CPR® 2 Ultrasonic Tip, The Workhorse, 17mm, EMS Fitting · single tip · reusable, steam sterilise before use
Made by Obtura Spartan
| Thread | EMS – Obtura Spartan’s own name for this code is “EMS Threaded Tip CPR 2E”. Unsure what your handpiece takes? Send us the make and model and we will check |
| Diamond coated | Obtura Spartan list the D tips in this range as diamond coated. It is the coating doing the cutting, not the shank |
| Reuse | Registered by Obtura Spartan as reusable, steam sterilise before use |
› Next along the range CPR 1E, 17.0 mm and CPR 3E, 17.0 mm.
› You will want the wrench Wrench for Spartan Tips, and the Spartan Tip Stand to keep eight tips out of a drawer.
How long does a tip last?
Obtura Spartan publish no figure and neither will we. Worth knowing is that a diamond tip stops cutting well before it looks worn, so judge it on how it is working rather than on how it looks.
