Two codes, one tip. Obtura Spartan build every CPR tip in two threads and put an E on the end of the EMS one: their own catalogue entry for this tip reads “EMS Threaded Tip CPR 5E”. If your handpiece takes an EMS-threaded tip, this is the code. If it does not, you want CPR 5D instead – the same tip, the other thread.

CPR 5 is the large Problem Solver: diamond coated, the longest taper of the three, 24.0 mm. Obtura Spartan carry one line on this tip that they carry on no other in the range – for use on low-intensity only. Take that as written.

Why low intensity only?
Obtura Spartan state it and give no further explanation, so neither will we. It is the only tip in the CPR range carrying the instruction, and it is also the longest. How low is a question for your unit’s own manual.
