Where do you learn continuous wave without wasting a molar? On a single canal with an honest taper and a real apical constriction. Acadental describe the Real-T Endo #29 as constricted in the apical area with an ideally tapered canal, making it a great tooth for vertical condensation or continuous wave technique. One canal, one length, and a full radiograph at the end that shows whether the down-pack reached the apical third and whether the backfill has voids.

Can I use a carrier-based system instead?
Yes – a tapered single canal is also a fair test of carrier obturation, and the radiograph will show the same voids and extrusions it would clinically.

Why a premolar rather than an incisor?
Because the canal is narrower and the constriction tighter, so heat and pressure behave more like a real case. #08 is the easier single canal if you want a gentler start.
