Two codes, one tip. Obtura Spartan build every CPR tip in two threads and put an E on the end of the EMS one: their own catalogue entry for this tip reads “EMS Threaded Tip CPR 3E”. If your handpiece takes an EMS-threaded tip, this is the code. If it does not, you want CPR 3D instead – the same tip, the other thread.

The three Problem Solvers are one idea in three sizes – diamond coated, thin, built to remove obstructions in the canal – and CPR 3 is the small one: the shortest taper of the three, for chasing calcifications and troughing around a post. 17.0 mm.

How long does a tip last?
Obtura Spartan publish no figure and neither will we. Worth knowing is that a diamond tip stops cutting well before it looks worn, so judge it on how it is working rather than on how it looks.
