The TruNatomy® range in one blister: Orifice Modifier to Medium, one of each

You do not know whether a TruNatomy® case ends on Prime, needs the Small on the way, or goes up to Medium until the canal tells you. This pack puts one of each on the tray: Orifice Modifier, Glider, Small, Prime and Medium. This is the 25 mm version, the middle of the three lengths.

Sizes as Dentsply Sirona print them. The “v” means variable taper; the taper shown is the average along the file, not the taper at the tip.

How Dentsply Sirona run the sequence

1  Scout, then the Orifice Modifier. ISO 010 K-file to the coronal two-thirds with a lubricant, then the Orifice Modifier until the coronal third is shaped (steps 4–5).

2  Length, then the Glider. Working length by apex locator and radiograph, patency, then a reproducible glide path with the Glider (steps 6–7).

3  Always Prime next. Not progressing: Small, then Prime. Loose at length with clean apical flutes: Medium (steps 8–13).

4  Confirm and fit. Length by hand with the last file, matched cone, 3-D disinfection, matched points, fill (steps 14–16).

Questions we get asked

Why the assortment rather than singles?
Because Prime is the only shaping file Dentsply Sirona’s procedure uses on every case; the Small and Medium depend on the canal. Once you know your own pattern, singles in packs of six are cheaper per file for the sizes you use most.

Which motor settings?
Dentsply Sirona give one setting for every TruNatomy® file: 500 rpm and 1.5 Ncm. Set it on any of the three endo motors we stock – X-Smart® Go · X-Smart® Pro+ · VDW.SILVER® RECIPROC®.

When do I throw a file away?
Dentsply Sirona’s procedure (step 11): inspect the cutting flutes routinely on removal for unwinding and straightening, and if deformation is noted, discard it and use a new TruNatomy® instrument.
