Bend it to the canal, and let the autoclave undo it

A furcal perforation you can see down the microscope but cannot reach in a straight line? That is what a memory-shape needle is for. The NiTi N°0 is the finest bore in the range at Ø0.90 mm, bent to whatever curve the case demands. PD's own note is the useful part: it takes back its initial straight shape during sterilisation, so it is not a one-case instrument you have quietly ruined.

› Fifteen minutes. Eject the material, discard the plunger and floss the lumen clear within a quarter of an hour. Set cement in a 0.90 mm bore is, in PD's words, very difficult if not impossible to remove.
› Chemistry that ruins NiTi: hydrogen peroxide degrades it, and hypochlorite above 5% degrades it beyond five minutes' immersion. Keep it out of both.
› It fits the syringe you already own – the bayonet catch is common to the whole MAP range.

Yellow or red for a first needle?
Red, usually. N°0 is the specialist size for constricted access; N°1 is the general-purpose bore most cases want, and it is the one MAP One is built around.

How many times can I bend it?
PD do not publish a bend limit. What they do publish is 50 reprocessing cycles for the reusable parts, and that sterilisation restores the straight shape.
