MAP System® · Classic curved · N°0 · Ø0.90 mm
Do you want a needle you shape to the case, or one that arrives at the same angle it did last week? That is the whole choice between NiTi and Classic. PD describe the Classic curved needles as designed for precise endodontic procedures performed using the orthograde approach, and at Ø0.90 mm this is the fine one – for canals and chambers where a wider bore has nowhere to go.
This pack: 1 × Classic curved needle N°0 yellow, Ø0.90 mm, with 16 matching plungers
Made by PD Dental, Switzerland
| Approach | Orthograde – down the canal, PD's stated indication for this geometry |
| Bore | Ø0.90 mm, the finer of the two Classic sizes. There is no Classic N°2 |
| Fixed geometry | Not intended to be bent. If the approach changes case to case, the NiTi needle is the one that does that |
| Reusable | Validated by PD for 50 reprocessing cycles; the plunger inside is single-use |
› Fifteen minutes to clean it. Discard the plunger, floss the lumen through. A 0.90 mm bore with set cement in it is, in PD's phrase, very difficult if not impossible to recover.
› Not for Biodentine – the IFU rules it out in the yellow and red needles because it clogs them.
› Same syringe. Classic, NiTi, Surgery and Hooked all share the one bayonet fitting, so a second geometry costs a needle, not a handpiece.
Classic or NiTi?
Classic if you want one predictable curve and nothing to set up. NiTi if the access varies and you would rather shape the instrument than work around it. Neither places material better – it is a handling preference.
Is there a blue Classic?
No. The Classic curved range is N°0 yellow and N°1 red only. For a Ø1.30 mm bore you want the NiTi or the Hooked N°2.
| Its consumable | Plastic Plungers N°0 yellow · 16 |
| Bendable instead | NiTi Memory Shape N°0 – same bore, shaped to the case |
| Wider Classic | Classic Needle Curved N°1 · Ø1.10 mm |
| Clean the lumen | CleanyFloss – the thread PD name in the IFU |
