Fewer passes into a defect you would rather not keep re-entering

An open apex that needs a 4 mm plug, or a resorptive defect the size of a pinhead is never going to fill? The blue N°2 is the widest bore in the standard range at Ø1.30 mm, and the reason to reach for it is arithmetic: each delivery carries more, so the same repair takes fewer trips down the canal. It is still memory-shape nitinol, so it bends to the approach and straightens itself in the autoclave.

› Access decides, not preference. A wider bore is only an advantage where the approach admits it; where it does not, the red or yellow needle is the right instrument, not a compromise.
› More bore, more residue. The fifteen-minute cleaning window applies just as strictly here, and there is more lumen to floss.
› Blue plungers only. A red plunger in this needle lets material past it instead of ahead of it.

When is N°2 the right call?
Apexification plugs, wide perforations and resorptive defects – anywhere the volume is real and the access is generous. For a fine canal or a small retro-cavity it is simply too big.

Is there a Classic or Surgery N°2?
No. Only the NiTi Memory Shape and the Hooked needle run to blue; the Classic curved and the Surgery needles stop at red.
