MAP System® · Hooked · N°2 · Ø1.30 mm
A generous retro-cavity, or a resorptive defect approached from outside the root? The Hooked N°2 is an unusual combination in this range: retrograde geometry at the widest standard bore, Ø1.30 mm. The Surgery needles stop at red, so if a retrograde case wants a fuller increment than Ø1.10 mm, this is the only needle that offers it.
This pack: 1 × Hooked needle N°2 blue, Ø1.30 mm, with 16 matching plungers
Made by PD Dental, Switzerland
| Unique combination | Retrograde geometry at Ø1.30 mm – the Surgery needles are not made in N°2 |
| Also useful for | Cervical root resorption by the retrograde route, one of the six indications in PD's IFU |
| Bore | Ø1.30 mm, so fewer deliveries into a defect you would rather not keep re-entering |
| Biodentine | The IFU excludes it from the yellow and red needles. Nothing is published for blue – treat that as unanswered |
› Blue plungers only. A red plunger in a Ø1.30 mm lumen lets material past it rather than driving it ahead.
› Wide bore, hooked tip, more residue. Floss it through inside fifteen minutes and it will give you fifty cycles; leave it and it will give you one.
› Access decides. Ø1.30 mm is an advantage only where the surgical window admits it, and a liability where it does not.
Which needles come in N°2 at all?
Two: this one and the NiTi Memory Shape N°2. Classic curved and Surgery both stop at N°1 red.
Is it worth owning alongside the red hook?
If your surgical cases vary in size, yes – the two share plungers with nothing else, but they do share the same syringe, so the second needle is the only real cost.
| Its consumable | Plastic Plungers N°2 blue · 16 |
| The other N°2 | NiTi Memory Shape N°2 – same bore, bendable, orthograde |
| Finer hook | Hooked Needle N°1 · Ø1.10 mm |
| Clean the lumen | CleanyFloss – the thread PD name in the IFU |
