KSK 31 · wingless · lower right molar · black
The 31 is the mirror of the No.30, drawn for the lower right. Same idea: a projection on the buccal beak that slips into the furcation, slightly festooned beaks, and no wings – so a clamp still has somewhere to sit when the margin has disappeared below the gingiva.
This item: 1 × KSK rubber dam clamp No.31, wingless, black, lower right
Made by Dentech, Japan · Black finish · supplied singly
| Buccal projection | Locates in the furcation of the lower right molar |
| Subgingival | Slightly festooned beaks for margins below the gingival crest |
| Handed | Lower right only – the lower left is the No.30 |
› Buy them as a pair if you retreat lower molars routinely; a single side covers half your cases.
› Standard lower molar work is the 7A or the 56T.
› Instruments: Washington clamp forceps and the Ainsworth punch, over a QED non-latex dam (40).
Wingless again – why?
On a subgingival margin the thing you most need to see is the beak. Wings cover it. Place the clamp first and carry the dam over it.
Is it autoclavable?
Yes – autoclavable at 121°c for 15 minutes or 132°c for 5 minutes. The black oxide layer is a finish on the steel, not a coating that will lift.
