MAP System® · Cleaning curette · N°0 yellow
Bought your MAP set a few years ago, and the yellow curette has gone missing from the tray? This is the replacement. It is the colour-matched scraper that earlier MAP kits supplied for clearing residue from a Ø0.90 mm needle. Worth knowing before you order: PD's current Instructions for Use no longer name it. The cleaning step they now specify is stiffened floss for the standard needles and the MAP brush for the VPT bores.
This item: 1 × cleaning curette, N°0 yellow
Made by PD Dental, Switzerland
| Matched to | The N°0 yellow needles, at Ø0.90 mm – the colour codes the bore, as it does throughout the range |
| Status | A legacy accessory. PD's current IFU specifies floss or the VPT brush, not a curette |
| Buy it if | You work from an earlier MAP kit that was supplied with curettes and want to keep the set complete |
| Timing is the same | Whatever you clean with, PD give you 15 minutes from use before set cement stops coming out |
› We would rather tell you this than sell it quietly. If you are equipping a new MAP set-up, CleanyFloss is what the current documentation calls for.
› Colour to colour. A yellow curette is sized for the yellow needle; using the wrong one is at best ineffective.
› It does not replace reprocessing. Clearing residue is the first step, not the whole decontamination cycle.
Should I be using floss instead?
If you are following PD's current IFU, yes – that is what it names. The curette remains available for practices whose kits were supplied with one and who have a working routine built around it.
Is it interchangeable between sizes?
No. Yellow for N°0, red for N°1, blue for N°2 – the same coding as the needles and plungers.
| Current IFU tool | CleanyFloss · 30 threads – what PD now specify |
| The needle it serves | NiTi Memory Shape N°0 · Ø0.90 mm |
| Its consumable | Plastic Plungers N°0 yellow · 16 |
| Other sizes | Curette N°1 red · N°2 blue |
MAP Cleaning Curette N°0 · yellow · for Ø0.90 mm needles · legacy accessory, superseded in PD's current IFU by stiffened floss · PD Dental · REF 20240
