A Ø1.30 mm needle holds the most residue of any in the standard range, which is why the blue curette was the one people reached for. It matches the two families made in N°2 – the NiTi Memory Shape and the Hooked. As with its siblings, it is worth saying plainly that PD's current Instructions for Use specify stiffened floss rather than a curette; this remains available for kits that were supplied with one.

Which needles is this for?
The NiTi Memory Shape N°2 and the Hooked N°2. Nothing else in the MAP range is made at Ø1.30 mm.

Can one curette cover all three sizes?
No – each is sized to its bore, which is why they are colour-coded. Floss, by contrast, works across the standard range.
