MAP System® · Cleaning curette · N°1 red
N°1 is the size most practices use most, so the red curette is the one that disappears first. This is a single replacement for it. Before ordering, one thing worth knowing: PD's current Instructions for Use no longer include a curette in the cleaning procedure at all – they specify a stiffened floss for the standard needles. The curette is here for the practices whose kits came with one.
This item: 1 × cleaning curette, N°1 red
Made by PD Dental, Switzerland
| Matched to | The N°1 red needles at Ø1.10 mm – the general-purpose size across the range |
| Status | A legacy accessory. PD's current IFU names stiffened floss, or the brush for VPT bores |
| Buy it if | Your MAP One or earlier kit came with a red curette and you want to replace it like for like |
| Timing is the same | 15 minutes from use, whichever tool you clear the lumen with |
› Equipping from scratch? Buy the floss. It is what the current documentation calls for and it costs less than this.
› Colour codes the bore, here as everywhere else in the MAP range – red is the Ø1.10 mm size.
› First step only. Clearing residue comes before the enzymatic soak, the ultrasonic bath and the autoclave, not instead of them.
Why do you still sell it?
Because plenty of MAP sets in UK practices were supplied with curettes, and a working routine is worth more than a tidy catalogue. If yours is one of them, this is the replacement.
Does it fit the VPT needles?
No. Those are Ø2.30 and Ø3.40 mm and take their own cleaning brush.
